Spotlight on … Cobham

Spotlight on … is a new feature that shines a light on the villages we serve by inviting the Davies Property Partners team to share their favourite spots, things to do and places to go.

So, who better to kick off the new feature than our Managing Director and Cobham resident Gareth Davies.

For a pint, I love going to …

The Bear, because it’s an easy walk from home, they have a good range of beers and a nice big garden out the back. The latest landlord has done a great job breathing fresh life into the place and all the staff are very friendly.

My favourite restaurant is …

Such a difficult one, because we’ve got a great variety. I recently visited our newest addition, Kinjo, and they’ve done such an amazing job with the interior as well as a real focus on the customer experience. The food was delicious, too!

When it comes to getting out and about, I like to …

Anyone who knows me knows about my passion for the outdoors, and that, for me, is such a big bonus of living in Cobham. From home I can run or bike for miles around some beautiful scenery. I did a two-hour mountain bike ride last week from the centre of Cobham which included Polesden Lacy, Denbies Vineyard and Bookham Common.

Cobham’s hidden gem is …

Strictly speaking it’s not Cobham, but accessed via Cobham… Oxshott Heath for me is a magical place which brings back so many childhood memories. If I’m biking or running, I’ll always include a circuit of the heath before winding my way back through Fairmile Common.

The best thing about Cobham is …

The community. I’ve lived in the area all of my life, I went to schools here and now I run my family business with our head office in the High Street. Naturally, I’ve built a large network of friends and contacts. My wife, however, originally from Glasgow, moved here from London only three years ago, and has seamlessly found friends and contacts of her own and now feels totally at home.

Lewis Sutehall

I’ve been with Davies Property Partners since March 2018, albeit it feels like I’ve always been here. I started my career in agency in 2007, all of which has been based in Elmbridge. My passion for property started at a young age, and I would often work in construction between school terms. I consider myself very fortunate to be working in an area with some wonderful homes. These homes are often made wonderful by the people and families living in them. Property is such an exciting industry, but is one which often comes with its stresses. Whether you’re dealing with someone’s first purchase, upsizing, downsizing or simply changing areas. Every transaction is of the greatest importance and needs the right care, skill, knowhow and above all experience. It’s a wonderful feeling to help achieve the best result for our clients or advise those buying. I feel flattered every time someone comes to me for my advice or opinion. I am always here to help!
